2017 International Photography Awards Announcement


This year the photographic competition received 14272 of submissions from over 165 countries, I'm grateful to have received Honorable Mention in Editorial - Other for the winning series entry "Lumpers". A series of work showing the traditional way of removing fish, (sometimes 140,000lbs) from fishing vessels to bring the highest quality fresh fish available in an ever changing industry.  You can see the full series of 38 images at this link:

Our theme, “Nature’s Wisdom” pays homage to Miné Crane, wife of Cornelius Crane and a Japanese painter, whose 100th birthday would have been in 2017. Miné drew inspiration from the natural world, particularly from the animals and trees at the Crane Estate. Don’t miss the special Miné display on the second oor of the Great House.

Enjoy over 400 works of original artwork on the rst and second oors of the Great House, sculpture on the Grand Allee, plus student works in the Casino. Vote for your favorite artwork to determine the People’s Choice Award.

Proceeds benefit The Trustees and the artists. Paintings, Sculptures, Drawings, and Photography

EXHIBITION

CAMERA USA 2017 Juried Exhibition                                                                                   Naples Art Association Naples Florida

The jurors have completed their entry reviews. My photograph "Breaking Down" has been selected for the exhibition. Now in its seventh year, the Camera USA® exhibition features recent work in color and black & white photography by photographers from across the United States. The 2017 jurors are David Houston, Director of the Bo Bartlett Center, Columbus State University; Gary Monroe, Senior Professor, Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, Daytona Beach and Robin O’Dell, Curatorial Administrator and Manager of Photographic Collections, Museum of Fine Arts, Saint Petersburg.
